The holidays are here, and what better way to pamper yourself or a loved one than with a homemade DIY Gingerbread Sugar Scrub? It smells like the season, feels luxurious on your skin, and makes a beautiful gift when packaged in small jars.


This recipe is easy to make and requires just a few pantry staples. It’s naturally exfoliating, moisturizing, and festive!

DIY Gingerbread Sugar Scrub


Ingredients You’ll Need  (Makes 2 – 4 oz jars)

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • ½ cup white sugar

  • ½ cup coconut oil (or any light oil you prefer)

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • ½ tsp ground ginger (optional, for a true gingerbread aroma)

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)

  • 10 drops cinnamon essential oil (optional)

Let’s Make It


In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon, and optional ginger.

  1. Add the coconut oil and stir until fully combined and fluffy.

  2. Mix in vanilla and essential oils.

  3. Spoon the scrub evenly into two 4 oz jars and seal tightly.

  4. Add a label or tag: “Use on wet skin, massage gently, then rinse.”


Shelf Life

  • Lasts 3–6 months if stored in a sealed jar and kept free from water contamination.

How to:

  1. Download the PDF from the link.

  2. Open in a program like Adobe Acrobat or Preview.

  3. Print at 100% scale on card stock (do not “fit to page”).

  4. Let ink dry a few seconds, then cut, add sure ribbon and tie onto jars.

  5. Pro Tip: Print a test page on plain paper first to check alignment.

How to:

  1. Download the PDF from the link.

How to use:

  4. Download as PDF for printing.

  5. Open the Avery design and print website, select Avery 22830 or your preferred sheet.

  6. Print at "actual size"

  7. Tip: Check your printer settings and alignment if using a different Avery sheet.
